Global Industries to work on Nigerian pipeline

NIGERIA: Carlyss, La.-based Global Industries subsidiaries Global Pipelines Plus Nigeria and Global Offshore International have entered into a contract with a West African client to provide the transportation, installation and related services associated with the replacement and repair of a 24-inch pipeline offshore Nigeria.

Mobilization for the US$100 million contract will begin this month.

Global will use pipelay barge Cheyenne and a number of support vessels to install the pipeline.

Global Chairman and CEO John Clerico said, "We expect the award of this 2009 project to be the first step in our return to profitability in this region."
